Neither Rain nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail will ever stop me from seeing amazing art! This past week I was able to make it up to Boston/Providence for a weekend of jaw dropping art viewing and fingering-licking food.
I survived the frozen runway and snow storm in Boston on Thursday night and Friday morning. Undeterred and two hours later I finally made it to the ICA. Besides almost being blown off the dock, literally, I had the entire museum to myself!
The Ragnar Kjartansson exhibition was well worth the effort. A visual and auditory meal, each piece revealed itself as a story. As I turned each corner the music would lure me in only be engulfed into a new environment.
Two pieces that I still can’t get out of my mind are The Man, which is a portrait of American blues musician Pinetop Perkins and The End with the humorous juxaposition of music making and swooping mountain landscapes.
By Sunday the weather had settled down and I enjoyed a long walk on the shores of Rhode Island. If you are ever in Bristol, make certain to stop by the Beehive, tasty treats abound.
I am looking forward to spring.
